Hand approaching a diamond engagement ring on warm architectural stone

Burvonti Client Guide

Frequently Asked Questions.

Clear answers for choosing a diamond, commissioning a piece, planning delivery, and caring for what follows. If your question is specific to a design or deadline, our team can review it with you directly.

Begin with the practical answer.

Fine jewelry can involve unfamiliar terminology and meaningful decisions. These answers are written from the buyer's point of view: what is included, what takes time, what can be changed, and what happens if the piece is not right.

01

Start Here

What is Burvonti's approach to fine jewelry?

Burvonti combines precise specifications, considered setting architecture, and human final calibration. We believe a jewelry decision should be understandable: the materials, proportions, production timeline, and service terms should be clear before you commit.

Our work is designed not only for the proposal or first impression, but for proportion, comfort, structure, and daily presence over time. Learn more on our About Burvonti page.

Are Burvonti engagement rings pre-made?

No. Burvonti engagement rings follow a Zero Pre-assembly standard. Each is fabricated and calibrated after the order around its selected center diamond and setting architecture.

What is the Curated Archive?

The Curated Archive is a limited selection of completed standard jewelry, such as eligible earrings and necklaces, that has already passed final calibration. Engagement rings are excluded and remain made to order.

02

Diamonds & Reports

Are lab-grown diamonds real diamonds?

Yes. Lab-grown diamonds have the same carbon crystal structure and the same fundamental chemical, physical, and optical properties as mined diamonds. Their primary difference is origin: they are grown in a controlled environment rather than extracted from the earth.

Are lab-grown diamonds the same as moissanite?

No. A lab-grown diamond is crystalline carbon; moissanite is silicon carbide. They are different gemstones with different optical and physical properties.

Will a lab-grown diamond pass a diamond tester?

In general, yes: lab-grown diamonds register as diamond on standard thermal-conductivity testers because they are diamonds. Basic testers cannot determine origin; specialized gemological equipment and grading documentation are used to distinguish lab-grown from mined diamonds.

Does my center diamond include an IGI report?

Center diamonds of 1.0 carat and above include an IGI grading report with the order. The report records the diamond's assessed characteristics, including carat weight, color, clarity, and relevant cut and proportion information.

Are Burvonti center diamonds laser inscribed?

Yes. Center diamonds of 1.0 carat and above carry a unique laser-inscribed identification number corresponding to their grading documentation, supporting authenticity and traceability. The inscription is microscopic and does not affect the diamond's visible appearance.

What are the 4Cs?

The 4Cs are cut, color, clarity, and carat weight. Cut influences how light returns; color describes the presence or absence of body color; clarity records internal and external characteristics; carat is weight, not a direct measurement of face-up size.

Burvonti considers these grades alongside shape, proportions, light performance, setting, and the wearer's preferences.

Can I request a diamond with characteristics not shown online?

Yes. Contact us with your preferred shape, carat range, color, clarity, budget, and timing. Availability and pricing can change, and a sourcing request does not reserve a diamond. A specific stone is secured only after its purchase is completed and confirmed.

Can Burvonti place a diamond on hold?

No. Burvonti does not currently offer a diamond hold service. Diamond availability is dynamic, so completing the purchase is the only way to secure a specific stone. If you are comparing specifications, our team can help you evaluate the decision before you order.

Does Burvonti offer a lifetime diamond upgrade?

Yes. An eligible Burvonti lab-grown center diamond may be returned and its original diamond purchase value applied toward a new lab-grown diamond priced at least twice the original diamond's purchase value.

The original diamond must be in saleable condition and accompanied by its original grading report. Burvonti will inspect the diamond before confirming eligibility and credit. A new or modified setting, labor, taxes, shipping, and other design costs are assessed separately and are not part of the diamond credit.

03

Choosing Your Ring

How do I choose the right diamond shape?

Begin with the visual character you prefer, then compare face-up proportions and how the outline relates to the hand. Round shapes emphasize balanced brilliance; elongated shapes such as oval, pear, marquise, radiant, and emerald can create more length. Also consider point protection, bow-tie visibility, corner durability, and how the shape fits the setting.

Our Diamond Shape Guide provides a fuller comparison.

How should I choose carat weight and face-up size?

Carat measures weight, not visible diameter. Two diamonds of the same carat can look different in size because of shape and proportions. Compare millimeter measurements, finger size, setting width, and budget rather than choosing by carat alone.

How much color or clarity can I see without magnification?

What is visible depends on shape, size, setting metal, lighting, and the location of clarity characteristics. Many buyers prefer an eye-clean diamond rather than paying only for a higher grade that is difficult to distinguish without magnification. Step-cut shapes can reveal color and inclusions more readily than some brilliant-cut shapes.

How do I choose a setting for my lifestyle?

Consider how often you use your hands, whether gloves are part of your work, how much maintenance you accept, and whether you prefer a low or elevated profile. Bezel and lower-profile settings can reduce snagging; exposed high-set designs may provide a different visual effect but require more awareness and regular inspection.

Which metal should I choose?

Choose first by color preference, then by weight, maintenance, durability, skin sensitivity, and setting requirements. Platinum has a naturally white appearance and greater density; white gold may require periodic re-plating; yellow and rose gold provide warmer contrast. Available metals vary by design, and our team can confirm the appropriate options for a specific piece.

Which precious metals does Burvonti offer?

Depending on the design, Burvonti offers platinum, 14K and 18K white gold, 14K and 18K yellow gold, and 14K rose gold. Not every design is available in every metal, and non-standard requests may require custom review.

Are Burvonti white-gold rings rhodium plated?

Yes. Burvonti white-gold rings are rhodium plated for a bright white finish and added surface protection. Rhodium is a surface finish and gradually wears with use; periodic re-plating is considered maintenance rather than a manufacturing defect.

How do I find the correct ring size without spoiling a surprise?

If possible, borrow a ring worn on the correct finger and have its inside diameter measured, or ask someone close to the wearer. Finger size changes with temperature, time of day, band width, and dominant hand, so estimates should be treated cautiously. Burvonti offers one complimentary resizing for eligible standard styles within 60 days of delivery.

Will my engagement ring sit flush with a wedding band?

Not every setting is designed for a completely flush fit. Gallery height, basket width, prongs, accent stones, and band shape can create a deliberate gap. If a flush stack matters, tell us before ordering so the engagement ring and intended wedding band can be evaluated together.

04

Customization & Sizing

Can Burvonti create a custom piece?

Yes. We can review full custom concepts as well as considered changes to existing Burvonti designs. Feasibility, price, timing, and return classification will be confirmed before the order is accepted.

Can I make a small change to an existing design?

Often, yes. Changes to the center-stone shape, prongs, band dimensions, metal, or other structural details require review because even a small visible change can affect security, proportion, production time, and return eligibility.

Can I request a center-stone shape not shown for a setting?

You may request it. Our team will assess whether the setting can be responsibly re-engineered for that shape. An approved non-standard configuration may be classified as modified or fully custom and may not follow the standard return policy.

Can I purchase a setting without a center diamond or supply my own stone?

These requests require individual review and are not offered as a standard online service. Before accepting a customer-supplied stone, Burvonti must assess its documentation, condition, dimensions, setting compatibility, transfer risk, and insurance requirements.

Can I engrave my jewelry?

Eligible pieces may be engraved after design review. An engraved piece returned within its applicable return window is subject to a USD 100 engraving-removal and restoration fee. Other personalized jewelry may be final sale when the personalization cannot be safely reversed.

What is the return policy for full custom jewelry?

Full custom jewelry is not refundable to the original payment method. If approved after inspection, it may be returned for Burvonti store credit. That credit may be used for one redesign; the redesigned piece is final sale.

Can you provide additional photos or videos before I order?

Contact us with the design or diamond you are considering. When current imagery or comparable references are available, our team can help you evaluate scale, profile, proportion, and design details before purchase.

Will I receive a CAD preview for a custom design?

Yes. For an accepted full custom project, Burvonti provides a realistic CAD rendering for review before production, normally within several business days after the design brief and required payment are confirmed. CAD is a design visualization; screen color, magnification, and perspective may differ from the finished piece.

Can I schedule a virtual design appointment?

Yes. A virtual appointment can be arranged for custom design, diamond selection, proportion, metal, sizing, and setting questions. Contact support with your time zone and preferred times so the team can confirm availability.

05

Payment & Ordering

What payment methods does Burvonti accept?

Burvonti offers secure payment options at checkout. Available methods may vary by billing country, order value, device, and eligibility. The payment methods currently available to you will be displayed during checkout.

Payment and installment providers are being finalized. Only the options shown in checkout should be treated as currently available.
Can I order from outside the United States?

Yes. Burvonti currently accepts direct online orders for delivery to the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. If your destination is not listed, contact us before ordering so we can review carrier availability, insurance coverage, and customs requirements.

Can I change or cancel an order after placing it?

Contact us immediately. Because engagement rings and modified pieces enter individual production, a change or cancellation is not guaranteed after fabrication, sourcing, engraving, or customization has begun. We will explain any available options and costs before proceeding.

Can you help keep an engagement ring a surprise?

Yes. Outer shipping packaging is discreet and carries no explicit Burvonti branding. If timing, contact method, or carrier-hold instructions are important, contact us before dispatch so the request can be reviewed.

Is my order gift-ready? Can I add a gift note?

Yes. Burvonti orders are prepared in presentation packaging suitable for gifting, inside a discreet shipping box. You may request a gift note during checkout where the option is shown, or contact support promptly after ordering. For surprise orders, ask us about price-document and communication preferences before dispatch.

06

Production & Delivery

How long does an engagement ring take?

Fabrication and calibration normally require 8–10 business days. Transit is normally 2–4 business days in the United States and 2–5 business days internationally, for an estimated total cycle of 10–14 business days in the United States or 10–15 business days internationally.

These are estimates, not guaranteed arrival dates. Confirm a time-sensitive deadline before ordering.

How long does Curated Archive jewelry take?

Eligible archive pieces normally require 1–4 business days for audit and processing. Including transit, the estimated total is 3–8 business days in the United States and 3–9 business days internationally.

Is shipping complimentary and insured?

Yes. Burvonti uses complimentary, fully insured DHL or FedEx priority service for supported destinations.

Will I pay duties or taxes on delivery?

For supported international destinations, Burvonti's current policy is that applicable customs, import duties, and local taxes are calculated into the checkout total, with no additional amount due at delivery. Contact us before ordering if your destination or tax status requires special handling.

Is a signature required? Can you ship to a P.O. box?

A physical signature is required for delivery, and Burvonti does not ship to P.O. boxes. A secure home or business address is required. Alternate-address and approved carrier-hold requests must be arranged before dispatch.

Can my order be expedited or delivered on a specific date?

Contact us before ordering. We can review the production stage, carrier service, destination, and requested date, but expedited or date-specific delivery is not guaranteed until confirmed in writing.

Does Burvonti offer Saturday delivery?

Saturday delivery may be available depending on the destination, carrier service, and dispatch timing. Contact support before shipment so availability and any additional carrier charge can be confirmed. Saturday delivery is not guaranteed until approved in writing.

What exactly will arrive with my order?

Your order will include the purchased jewelry and its presentation packaging. Center diamonds of 1.0 carat and above also include the corresponding IGI grading report. Any design-specific documentation or included materials shown in your order confirmation will travel with the piece.

How can I track my order?

When the order is ready for dispatch, tracking information is sent to the email associated with the order. Allow time for the carrier's first scan to appear. If the tracking link does not update or you cannot locate the message, contact support with your order number.

Can I change my delivery address after ordering?

Contact us immediately. For fraud prevention and insurance, an address change must be approved before dispatch and may require identity or payment verification. Once the carrier has accepted the parcel, rerouting may be restricted or unavailable.

What happens if I miss the required signature?

The carrier will normally provide the next available delivery or hold instructions. Do not authorize an unattended release. Contact the carrier using the official tracking link or ask Burvonti to review an insured ServicePoint hold where available.

What if my parcel is delayed, lost, tampered with, or damaged?

Keep the packaging, photograph any visible damage before opening further, and contact Burvonti immediately with the order number and tracking details. Do not discard packaging or resolve a high-value loss only with the carrier; Burvonti must coordinate the insured investigation and next steps.

What if the jewelry arrives damaged or is not what I ordered?

Stop wearing or handling the piece and contact us promptly with clear photographs or video, the order number, and a description of the discrepancy. Keep all packaging and documentation. We will assess the issue and arrange the appropriate insured return, correction, replacement, or other remedy.

What should I do if a stone feels loose after delivery?

Stop wearing the piece immediately and store it securely. Do not press, tighten, glue, or take it to another jeweler, as outside alteration may affect warranty review. Contact Burvonti with photographs or video so we can arrange an assessment.

07

Returns & Refunds

What is Burvonti's return window?

Eligible pieces may be returned or exchanged within 45 days of delivery. The first eligible return may receive a full refund to the original payment method after inspection. Items must be unworn, unaltered, in original condition, and accompanied by all required packaging and documentation.

Review the complete Returns, Exchanges & Resizes policy before returning a piece.

Which items are not eligible for a standard refund?
  • Pieces outside the applicable return window.
  • Items showing wear, micro-abrasions, damage, or structural alteration.
  • Pieces altered or resized by a third party.
  • Irreversibly personalized jewelry.
  • Full custom work, which follows the store-credit and redesign policy.
  • Orders identified as comparative purchasing or policy abuse.
Are there limits on multiple returns?

Yes. Each customer account is limited to two returns or exchanges. Burvonti absorbs the eligible first return; a second return refunded to the original payment method is subject to a 20% structural deconstruction fee, or may be issued as 100% Burvonti store credit.

Ordering multiple pieces with the intention of keeping only one is considered comparative purchasing and may make the order ineligible.

How do I begin a return?

Email support@burvonti.com for an authorized RMA and insured return label before shipping. After receiving the label, give the parcel to the carrier within 10 calendar days. Unauthorized or refused packages may be rejected.

What must be included in a full return?

Include the jewelry, original packaging, and all grading documentation supplied with the order. A missing or damaged grading certificate carries a USD 200 replacement fee. For a resizing-only shipment, retain the grading certificate rather than placing it in the parcel.

How long does a refund take?

Inspection may take up to 7 business days after receipt. Once approved, the refund is issued to the original payment method; depending on the financial institution, it may take up to one billing cycle to appear.

Does Burvonti offer complimentary resizing?

Yes. Standard ring styles receive one complimentary resizing within 60 days of delivery, including secure shipping both ways. Resizing is generally limited to one full size up or down; larger changes may require a paid reset.

Can an eternity band be resized?

No. A continuous eternity design cannot normally be resized without disrupting its structure. Eligible eternity bands may instead be exchanged within the 45-day window.

Warranty, Repairs & Care

What does the Lifetime Manufacturing Warranty cover?

Burvonti's Lifetime Manufacturing Warranty covers defects inherent to materials or workmanship. If inspection confirms a manufacturing defect, Burvonti will repair or replace the affected piece without charge, using an insured service process arranged by our team.

What is not covered by the manufacturing warranty?
  • Normal wear, scratches, surface marks, or gradual finish changes.
  • Metal discoloration caused by chemicals, cosmetics, perfumes, pools, or hot tubs.
  • Natural wearing of prongs and other components through regular use.
  • Loss or loosening of stones caused by impact, trauma, misuse, or accidental damage.
  • Loss, theft, or disappearance of the jewelry.
  • Alteration, repair, or resizing performed outside Burvonti.
Should I insure my jewelry separately?

Yes. A manufacturing warranty is not a substitute for jewelry insurance. Independent coverage may protect against loss, theft, accidental damage, and center-stone loss—events generally outside a manufacturing warranty.

How do I request a warranty review?

Email support@burvonti.com with your order number, clear photographs or video, and a description of what occurred. Do not send the jewelry until Burvonti provides shipping instructions and authorization.

How should I care for my jewelry?

Remove fine jewelry before heavy impact, exercise, household chemicals, swimming, or hot tubs. Store pieces separately, clean gently using methods appropriate to their stones and metals, and arrange professional inspection if a prong, stone, clasp, or setting feels different.

Can Burvonti repair, polish, clean, or re-plate jewelry outside warranty coverage?

Contact us for an individual service assessment. Work that is not caused by a manufacturing defect—such as wear, impact damage, polishing, routine maintenance, or rhodium re-plating—may be available for a quoted service and insured shipping fee. We will not begin paid work without your approval.

What happens if I lose my IGI grading report?

Contact Burvonti with your order information and, if available, the laser-inscribed report number. We can help identify the appropriate reissue or re-verification route. Laboratory and insured handling fees may apply; the current return policy applies a USD 200 fee when a required report is missing from a full return.

How quickly will Burvonti respond to my message?

Our goal is to respond to email inquiries within one business day. Live-chat assistance is available seven days a week when the chat indicator is shown online. Complex custom, warranty, carrier, or inspection questions may require additional review after the initial response.
